I am out the door early today to take a class. Tonight I am being taped for a PeakmomentTV piece (thank goodness for tech savvy kids). The Mother Earth News Fair is all set. I also have a couple of new food preservation classes to teach so I’m a happy camper. Last night, my permaculture guild meeting was disrupted my the delivery of out chick-Phoebe calls them chicklets. We spent the first 1/2 hour cooing over ducklings and chicklets, too cute for words. BTW. Someone here suggested that I read the young adult novel, Life As We Knew It. I did, along with the two sequels. They were very well written but I would not suggest them for sensitive kids. I will post again on Friday but I am off to my class.

I look forward to watching your interview, Kathy. Do you know Sharon Astyk? Very interesting to compare your approaches to practical living – if, indeed, you do have different approaches.

What a pleasure to hear from you! I had told Jania that I loved you book. I read about it on the LATOC site when I first joined and ordered a copy right away. Sharon is a dear friend. I admire her as much as any woman I know. Your book has a permenant home on my coffee table, along with Reinventing Collaps and Brace for Impact. If you are ever in the States, you have a standing invitation to come on by. We have quite the community here.

Thank you so much, Kathy, that means an awful lot to me – almost justifies writing the book on its own!
There’s very little chance of me ever coming to the States – I’m not sure they’d let me in, for a start – but it’s nice to know there is a welcome for me in all sorts of places
